Presbyterian Senior Services Building An
Intergenerational Community

Intergenerational programs have confirmed advantages for the young and old. Intertwining long-term intergenerational programs into the fabric of the community and cultural life is the goal of a project developed by Presbyterian Senior Services.

We began by having one director for the two programs, Davidson Senior Center and the Kinship Caregivers Support Program. The programs are adjacent to each other.

The director incorporates intergenerational projects such as Arts and Culture; Computer Training; Community Service, Writing Workshops, Learning Garden and more.

Intergenerational programs benefit all involved by reinforcing seniors’ sense of self worth; by giving everyone an opportunity to share experiences; brings forth an understanding of cultures; allows young children to benefit from a supportive and nurturing environment; and most importantly, facilitates learning and growth.
